Our folks at Metal Addicts have heard from an anonymous source that there are rumors of IRON MAIDEN planning a U.S. arena/stadium tour next year in support of their upcoming seventeenth studio album, with TESTAMENT and an undisclosed act serving as special guests.
This rumor comes in the wake of last week’s news that IRON MAIDEN were in the middle of wrapping up their new album at Guillaume Tell Studios in Paris with producer Kevin Shirley, the same studio where 2000’s “Brave New World” and their most recent album, 2015’s “The Book of Souls“, were recorded. These events have not been officially been confirmed by the band, but their new album is reportedly set for release later this year or next year.
Although IRON MAIDEN and TESTAMENT have shared the stage occasionally for over the last 20 years, mostly at festivals in or outside of Europe, the only time these two bands have ever toured together is 1992, when TESTAMENT (along with CORROSION OF CONFORMITY) supported IRON MAIDEN on the North American leg of the latter’s “Fear of the Dark” tour.

Dear god, not Kevin Shirley again! Guys, FFS get yourselves a decent producer like Martin Birch was! ???
I have to agree book of souls was an awesome album that sounded dull I would put it up there next to there first album for sounding like it was recorded by an amacher
Right! Someone should tell Steve Harris that neither he nor K. Shirley are good producers, they both suck! All Kevin Shirley era albums sound terrible.
Yeah they do dude i Was so disappointed with the sound of book of souls can’t fault maiden on there song wrighring or there playing the production was flat n boaring they need Andy sneap or someone like that to bring the mighty maiden back on top again
My 1st Maiden disappointment was
Somewhere In Time in my opinion. The SIT album wasnt that bad compared to everything that followed it. Get back to basics IM!!! Starting with Killers, # of the beast, and my fav… Live After Death, that was 15 solid yeard of amazing metal…
Both killer sounding albums sit the song wrighting was different and stranger in a strange land is one of my fav Im songs and the prophesy from seventh son is probably the best song they ever did that’s when I discovered maiden I was 10 years old
I’ve never liked any Kevin Shirley record. Get Martin to come out of retirement for a one off.
I hope Iron Maiden can also bring Testament to Europe.
Dude they need to come to Scotland
I wonder what Adrian thinks of the sound, his primal rock rebellion album sounded way heavier, much more bass in there too.
I didnt like the book of souls and finale frontier that much to be honest.
lets hope the new and mostly last album will be one to remember.
i can tell you now It will not be there last album and BOS Was One Of the Best albums Ever Made By them
Seen them in Charlotte. Best concert I have ever seen. Would love it if they came back
I totally respect your choices for best IM album and best IM song all time. I myself got my 1st cassette tape at the age of 8 or 9 from my cousin who was 15 or so at the time, and it was Number of the Beast. And the bulk of material off of Live After Death is originally from Number so my vote for best IM album must goto Live After, while my fav IM song is probably (and ive given this a
shitload of thought) got to be Aces High. And a close 2nd is Number of the Beast the song itself. Thats my story and ima sticking to it.
