Lou Reed’s final interview has now been released and can be streamed below here. It was recorded on September 21, just five weeks before he passed away as a result of liver failure.
During the interview he’s asked why he makes music to which he replies – “I love it. You do what you love – or you get arrested.”
Reed’s friend Farida Khelfa, who was present during the filming of the video, explains – “Today I see Lou for the last time; I do not know this yet. Lou seems very diminished – but recovers quickly in front of the camera. This is the last time we have a conversation together.”
