Marty Friedman of Cacophony and Megadeth fame, one of the most iconic and versatile names of rock guitar who is currently based in Japan where he is releasing loads of materials, doing crazy TV shows and playing outrageous shows just released a bang on instrumental album with his own material after close to 4 years. Marty moved to Japan in 2003 and has been working on various versatile musical endeavors since then. Marty’s new solo album “Inferno” is by far the most thrilling and adventurous effort to date. The album also includes notable guest appearances by several artists influenced by Friedman, including flamenco/metal acoustic guitar duo RODRIGO Y GABRIELA, CHILDREN OF BODOM frontman Alexi Laiho, SKYHARBOR mastermind Keshav Dhar and REVOCATION guitar whiz David Davidson, as well as Friedman’s first songwriting collaboration with Jason Becker since the pair played together in CACOPHONY, the pioneering duo of guitar mayhem.
Metalholic & Metal Wani Editor In Chief Owais ‘Vitek’ Nabi recently had a chat with Marty Friedman. He discussed his new album “Inferno”, collaboration with guest musicians, working with Jason Becker, Cacophony days, his opinion on Instrumental bands, working with Skyharbor’s Keshav Dhar, Indian Metal Scene. Towards the end Marty Friedman also discusses who’s bathwater he wants to drink 😉
