According to the Associated Press, Marion County Judge Audrey Broyles declined to set bail for JOURNEY drummer Deen Castronovo on Tuesday (June 30) after Deen was indicted by a grand jury on felony charges that include include assault, sexual abuse and unlawful use of a dangerous weapon.
Castronovo will remain in an Oregon jail after prosecutors said the musician texted the victim 122 times and called her 35 times.
Castronovo reportedly admitted to the abuse in the texts and was described by Marion County Deputy District Attorney Jennifer Gardiner as “unstable” and a threat to the woman if he is released.
“In some of those messages he was screaming at her that he hated her, that she was ruining his life,” Gardiner said.
