Brisbane metal band Tria Mera have just released the video clip for their latest single ‘The Sacrifice’ off of their ‘Extinction’ EP. The clip was shot in Brisbane, Australia and features members of the public listening to the track and trying to decipher the lyrics. What follows is a hilarious look into what some people heard while listening to the song!
Vocalist Ben Davis has this to say about the track:
“We all sacrifice something. Everyday we get out of bed, go to work, come home and sleep. We continue this cycle until we can’t remember when each day began and for what? We are told what to think, say and do but sometimes it doesn’t sit right. So we begin questioning and searching for truth. Why do I stay chained to this system? Why do I continually let myself be blinded by convenience? What’s it all for?”.
“The clip sort of represents that search for truth in the words and thoughts that are thrown at us. We went out and asked people to interpret what they heard and each person heard something different. We believe that it shows each person’s way of figuring out their own path and ultimately, their own sacrifice, and they also had some fun in doing so!” Davis goes on to explain the idea behind the clip.
The clip also features Rhys Cockram who replaces Ian Konrad on guitar. Konrad departed the band amicably in September. Tria Mera will round out 2015 by playing the Ye Gods Of Metal Festival in Brisbane on December 5 at the New Globe Theatre before they lock down to write new material for their next record.
