Johnny Crow is a teen metalhead who had bad couple months since his dad died of a heart attack the age of 49 this past April. At the time, Johnny was with his dad when he had his heart attacked and performed CPR.
Johnny‘s sister got a call from the local music shop, Port Huron Music Center, informing her that their father had ordered a Dean Razorback guitar for Johnny‘s birthday to ensure he got the exact model he wanted. So she took him to the music show to show him the present as a surprise. Video of that moment can be seen below, which already surpassed 10 million views.
After the video became a sensation, the owner of Port Huron Music Center and Grove Mall, where the guitar was purchased, invited Reddit users to donate money for Johnny’s guitar lessons via PayPal.
They ended up with more than $16,000 in donations.
Apparently, the shop’s owner has now put the Crow family together with a lawyer to figure out the best way to handle the Internet’s incredible generosity. Although Johnny can now clearly afford the finest guitar lessons the world has to offer a high school kid.
Johnny will soon be attending an Alice Cooper concert, Cooper’s guitarist, Nita Strauss, arranged for Johnny to come backstage at the show and meet Alice.
