Maynard James Keenan addressed the latest rumors regarding the massively-anticipated new Tool album, branding them “horseshit.”
The rumors were started by a Reddit user called RepresentativeSilver, who got a lot of attention by posting the following:

“There’s no way I can prove this, as I’ve built a name and career for myself that I’m absolutely not willing to risk. You’ll have to take my word for it.
“The new Tool album will be out in May of this year. The vocals are finished, and the band is very far ahead of schedule. It’s obvious that doing new APC music has motivated Maynard, as the whole vocal process took less than two weeks.
“There will be 13 songs, a few of which are under ten minutes, but the majority are LONG… If you thought the packaging for ‘10,000 Days’ was over the top, you are in for a treat. That’s all I’ll say.
“The song that we know as ‘Ascending’ is on there, but it’s paired with two other songs and is definitely the least interesting of the trio (although it’s still great–think ‘Parabol/a’). It’s followed by a song called ‘Descending,’ and a third called ‘Innocence.’

“The first single will be the title track–it will be out at the end of April.”
The thread was ultimately deleted due to the “harassment” the poster received for posting the aforementioned “horseshit.”
