Anthrax will be supporting Slayer on their farewell tour, when asked about how he feels about this Charlie states that he was shocked when he first heard about it, but it made him reflex on the future of Anthrax. Saying “I never really stopped to look back at things, I only stopped to look back when people mentioned it to me. For the most part I still feel like I’m 20 something years old. And just going, going and going. So I don’t know if I will ever, ever stop making music. There may be a day where we all stop performing because we can’t do it that well anymore but I don’t know if I will ever stop making music.
Since Slayer is doing a farewell tour, it opens up the question: Will there be a Big 4 Tour? Charlie Benante ways in joking at first saying “Let me call Lars and see if he’s up to it.” The bottom line is never say never and this could be the one thing that gets Slayer out of retirement.
Anthrax have started working on the follow up album to ‘For All Kings’. Lots of songs have been demoed Charlie said “ They are on their way to the start of making another record, it’s just going to take a little time to all get together” Charlie has started writing songs and so far it sounds really good. The goal is to have 20 song to choose from. Charlie Benante is responsible for many of Anthrax’s album covers and T-shirt designs and plans on designing the upcoming album cover as well.
At the end of the interview Jessie asks if there would ever be a SOD reunion and Charlie finishes up by saying “you never know.”
