Last April, CEO of Hard Rock International said that on the 28th of June 2018 The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino will have its grand opening after a long anticipated wait, and it seems that works are currently underway to prepare for this day. The International company has already installed its signature gold sign with the words “Hard Hotel and Casino” on what was formerly known as the Trump Taj Mahal.
Just two weeks ago, the company also announced its 3,000th employee, 54-year-old Atlantic City native Leonard Coleman who will begin as a Craps Dealer. A spokesperson for Hard Rock explained how the company received over 20,000 applications from “like-minded rock stars” who are interested in a career in the gaming and hospitality industry ever since the announcement of the opening of Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City.
The company has also joined forces with a growing leader in the iGaming Industry, GiG, as part of its plan to launch an NJ gambling site later on this year. Founded in 2012, GiG has only focused on European iGaming markets to this very day, which means that their collaboration with Hard Rock International will open the door for the first time into the US market.
“We are excited to be part of Hard Rock International’s inspiring and innovative plans to become a global leader in the international online gaming space. The online casino will be a stand-out product with the sizzle of the Hard Rock music, entertainment, and lifestyle brand.” – Robin Reed, CEO at GiG
Needless to say, this news has also sparked a lot of excitement in the online community which has very high expectations for the website:
“This is one online casino which we can’t wait to explore. It doesn’t need much hype, because its name alone stirs up excitement in the online gaming community. Will it rock us? That’s one thing we don’t have to guess at. The answer is a resounding: yes.” – Casinos.co, online casino review experts
At the moment, the plans for the opening of the land casino are heavily underway. However, the company has already given away some key information about the new building that will grace the city boardwalk.
The Casino:
According to their official website, the Casino will have 2,100 slots and 120 table games in all. It will also have several bars located at various points throughout the property.
It is estimated that there will be over 20 restaurants, and of course, there will also be a Hard Rock Cafe – the classic restaurant chain that has had plenty of success worldwide.
The Hotel Rooms:
The hotel will have around 2,000 rooms which, in Hard Rock’s own words, will be fit for rock and roll royalty. Guests will have the possibility to make use of several amenities, such as having turntables and a collection of vinyl records available in their rooms or at check-in and the option to get a Fender delivered to your room for a jam session!
According to NJ.com, the cost of booking a room during the opening nights ranges between $300 and $400, but prices will go as low as $169 a night later in the summer.
Live Entertainment
When it comes to Live entertainment, Hard Rock will certainly not disappoint as it plans to have around 300 acts during the first year, and a 100 major acts annually, as stated by Jim Allen, chairman of Hard Rock International and CEO of Seminole Gaming, said during a Wednesday press conference.
Allen also stated that there is currently no casino in Atlantic City offering this kind of entertainment value; “No one in Atlantic city and no one in Las Vegas has ever committed to 300 performances and that speaks to the strength of our brand”.
Some of the entertainment acts planned for this year will include famous stars like Blake Shelton, Chris Young, Rascal Flatts, Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, and stand-up comedienne Amy Schumer.
A Revival Of Atlantic City
Residents of Atlantic City are excited about the prospect of the revival of their city thanks to The Hard Rock Hotel and Casino which will hopefully turn it into a popular travel destination. This is especially because the city has fallen on hard times in recent years.
Last year, the city had its lowest recorded visitation figures since 1982 according to a report released in March by Lloyd D. Levenson Institution of Gaming in Stockton University.
However, also according to this institution, the future looks bright for Atlantic City. The executive director of Lloyd D. Levenson Institution of Gaming, Rummy Pandit, said that the opening of the Hotel and Casino will bring about an influx in total visitation as more and more visitors and workers will come to the city.
Ocean Resort CEO, Frank Leone, also expressed the same thoughts:
“The grand opening of Ocean Resort Casino represents much more than an opening of a casino, but instead is a sign of the continued positive trend in tourism and gaming in Atlantic City”.
