Bad news from Judas Priest camp.
We, the fans have been eagerly waiting for any update on KK Downing to join Priest on their upcoming 50th-anniversary tour.
Today KK revealed that his former bandmates have no intention of including him in their upcoming 50th-anniversary tour.
Here’s the statement:
“First of all, I want to once again express my huge appreciation to all fans worldwide for the overwhelmingly positive response to my Bloodstock appearance in August and the Wolverhampton gig in early November. I am truly humbled and grateful. I am also taken aback with the compelling fan outcry for me to participate in the JUDAS PRIEST 50th-anniversary celebrations next year.
He added:
“Consequently, I felt the right thing to do was to reach out to my former bandmates to gather their thoughts on this, and their response is they are not receptive to my participation in the band and they do not intend to include me in the 50th anniversary celebrations.
KK concluded, saying:
“However, the great news for the fans is that I will be continuing to forge ahead. I am looking very much forward to seeing you all on the road in 2020. Together we will take on the world.”
In a new interview with us, KK talked about the anniversary as well as playing with Ross The Boss at Bloodstock Open Air.
K.K. recently played some Judas Priest tunes with Ross The Boss at Bloodstock. I wanted to know what stood out the most for him on that gig. He replied “Yeah, I really enjoyed that. It was great for me to meet some other musicians and play with them as I’ve never done that all of my life. I was always devoted to Priest.” He went on “I didn’t meet the guys until Friday night and I was on stage with them on Sunday at 1 pm (laughs). So you know, there’s that nervous energy. But the guys did exceptionally well and they were great and I thanked them a lot for having me guest up there.”
The Judas Priest 50th anniversary is coming up in 2020. And I wanted to know if K.K. had plans to celebrate. He answered “I don’t know. I haven’t really got a plan, to be honest. There’s not an opportunity out there. I haven’t heard anything at all from the Priest camp whatsoever. I don’t know. That’s not to say I couldn’t take my own Priest band and celebrate myself. We’ll see what happens.”

Well, there’s worse things than two Judas Priests.
