Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee jokingly suggested he was stuck for ideas on what stage stunt to employ on the band’s 2022 reunion tour.
He’s become known for a series of outlandish antics during his performances, including playing a solo on a roller coaster during the band’s farewell tour – though it broke down during the final performance on Dec. 31, 2015.
Lee was asked about his plans during a press conference where rumors about Motley Crue’s return were confirmed. Titled the Stadium Tour, the road trip also features Def Leppard, Poison and Joan Jett, with dates announced from July 7 to Sept. 5.
“I’m going to shoot myself out of a f*cking cannon at this point,” he told SiriusXM.
“I don’t even know what’s left to do. We started designing the production a couple of days ago. We’ve always put everything we have into the design and the production, always try to do a show where people walk out going, ‘That was f*cking insane.’”
He noted that “there’s a lot of new technology right now, that we haven’t gotten the chance to play with, and we’re excited. We’re starting to put together something incredible. And [it’s] in a stadium, so everything’s going to be four times as big.”
