Def Leppard drummer and painter, Rick Allen, recently posted a photo of the most recent artwork on his Instagram account.
He revealed that he’s working on a new piece which he will add to his ‘Legends‘ of music collection.
With his recent Instagram post, he revealed that he has started working on a new art piece in honor of the late guitar legend Eddie Van Halen. As you know, Eddie Van Halen passed away on October 6, 2020, after battling cancer for over five years and his death was mourned by numerous artists and millions of fans.
Rick Allen decided to pay tribute to the iconic guitarist by creating a portrait of him and adding him to his ‘Legends‘ series. He said that the painting is still a work in progress but it seems like he was so excited about his new artwork that he just couldn’t keep it to himself anymore.
Thousands of people liked his post and applauded him for finding such a meaningful way to pay tribute to the late legend.
Here’s what Allen said in the caption of his recent post:
“Legend… work in progress.”
