In a new interview with Chuck Shute, SIXX: A.M. singer James Michael talked about Nikki Sixx.
Here’s what he said:
“Nikki Sixx of Mötley Crüe had a sub-label at the record company I was working for called “Beyond Music,” and they had Mötley recordings, which were somewhat connected to Beyond. I just so happened to be on the same label as Nikki Sixx. I actually met Nikki there for the first time. We only became friends because we frequently crossed paths in the record label’s hallways.”
James continued:
“I heard your solo record, he said as he pulled me aside one day. I adore the way you write. Would you be interested in contributing to Mötley Crüe’s writing? Of course, I responded. Absolutely.’ One of my first experiences composing legally for a legitimately signed and successful band was with that”
Earlier James Michael recently spoke to Metal On Loud, where he talked about the band’s future plans, and if they are going to tour supporting their new compilation album ”Hits”.
Here’s what James said:
“We don’t have any tour plans. I know that, of course, Motley Crue has this big tour that has been planned and rescheduled. So I think that that’s probably all-encompassing for Nikki and the gang, as far as that goes. But we right now don’t have any plans to do that.
“When we got off the road a couple of years ago, we were all pretty burnt out. And I think that we just naturally kind of made the decision that that might be it for Sixx: A.M.. as far as touring goes. But you never know what time off does to somebody. So we’ll see.”
