In a recent interview on Q104.3’s “Out Of The Box With Jonathan Clarke,” former VAN HALEN bassist Wolfgang Van Halen expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming summer 2024 tour featuring vocalist Sammy Hagar, bassist Michael Anthony, guitarist Joe Satriani, and drummer Jason Bonham.
The tour is expected to focus largely on the music of VAN HALEN.
He said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “Yeah, that’s super cool, man. I’m stoked for it. I’m actually, I’m gonna be seeing Mike in Vegas, so I’m stoked to give him a hug.”
Wolfgang shared his excitement, stating that he’s “stoked for it” and mentioned that he plans to meet with Michael Anthony in Vegas, expressing his anticipation for the reunion.
Reflecting on his early days with VAN HALEN, Wolfgang discussed the nerve-racking experience of joining the legendary rock band at just 15 years old. Despite the pressure, he highlighted the extensive rehearsal period that preceded his debut, making him feel prepared and ready for the significant moment.
When asked about reproducing the backing vocals originally recorded by Michael Anthony and its impact on his vocal style, Wolfgang acknowledged that the experience was a workout but also contributed to the development of his own singing style.
