Devin Townsend Project is returning to Australia and New Zealand in 2017 and today, Aussie prog/post-rock/instrumental sensations sleepmakeswaves are announcing that they will accompany HevyDevy on the entire May 2017 Australian/New Zealand tour.
Since recording and releasing their most epic record to date, ‘Love of Cartography’, they’ve been back to the UK and Europe twice, China, South East Asia, New Zealand, North America, and looped around Australia a bunch of times and shared stages with some incredible bands – Karnivool, Dead Letter Circus, The Contortionist, Opeth, Monuments, Skyharbor and of course a very special tour with the reunited COG.
The sleepmakeswaves bassist Alex Wilson exclaimed his excitement at the Devin Townsend Project tour. “So glad to be offered the opportunity to support Devin Townsend when he comes to Australia in 2017. It was a great surprise and honour to get the news while we’re hunkered down preparing our new album for next year. Really excited about the new music and live shows ahead.”
