Sure, the next Wacken Open Air, taking place from the 02nd to the 4th August 2018, seems to be really far away. But the new band announcement which happened now at the Hamburg Metal Dayz increased the anticipation: In 314 days Judas Priest, Dimmu Borgir, Vince Neil, Children Of Bodom and Amaranthe will be on stage at the W:O:A 2018.
Judas Priest are back in Wacken! And they probably bring their new album on which the legends around Rob Halford are working at the moment. The show at the Holy Ground sure is a good training for the British metal gods for their upcoming 50th band anniversary in 2019. The symphonic Black Metal band Dimmu Borgir and the melodic Death Metal band Children Of Bodom are brand new on the billing as well. Despite their musical differences both bands have something in common: their show at the Wacken Open Air in front of 75,000 metalheads will be the only one they will do in Germany. Furthermore the new band package is completed by Amaranthe and their Melodic Death Metal from Skandinavia as well as from Vince Neil, who is bringing a Mötley Crüe-Best-Of.
Next to these five new acts the line-up for the Wacken Open Air 2018 includes so far:
Nightwish, Running Wild, Doro, Arch Enemy, Dirkschneider, In Extremo, Sepultura, Amorphis, Epica, Watain, Knorkator, Belphegor, Firewind, Deserted Fear and Bannkreis.
More bands will be announced in the months and of course during the traditional W:O:A Xmas calendar. Fans who don’t want to miss this one and only metal party, can still get their ticket at www.metaltix.com or at the official travel partner.
