Slash’s 15-year-old son London Hudson and his Classless Act bandmate Nico Tsangaris talked about GN’R’s “Chinese Democracy,” with London saying on Appetite for Distortion:
“I never really listened to it until I first heard it live, like ‘Chinese Democracy,’ then I looked up the song. I really didn’t know what the album was for a long time.”
“I mean, you see everyone wearing ‘Appetite’ and ‘Use Your Illusion’ shirts, not ‘Chinese Democracy.'”
After Nico chimed in with “Poor Axl,” London added:
“You go to a Guns N’ Roses show now, you still won’t see people wearing ‘Chinese Democracy’ shirts.”
Discussing his dad’s attitude with the ongoing GN’R reunion, young Hudson said:
“He seems really excited to play, that he’s able to do what he loves with the guys that he loves. It’s cool, because a lot of the Velvet Revolver stuff I don’t remember how he was acting, but you can tell he’s excited every show. He’s nervous before every show to play. He does his 20 minutes of solitude before the shows, still.”
