Machine Head frontman Robb Flynn talked about the differences between the band’s creative process and how many young bands are creating music these days, telling UG interviewer Steven Rosen:
“One of the most important things with us is we all live in the same area and well all get together three, four times a week and jam.

“I know it sounds obvious but you’d be surprised that most bands don’t do that anymore and especially younger bands I talk to all the time.
“They write riffs on email to a click track and then they email it to the drummer and he adds some drumbeats and they email it to the singer and the singer sings over it and then never even get together and play in a room together.
“They record separately and that is so fuckin’ weird to me. The reason I got in a band is because I wanna be in the jam room banging it out.”
