“I have my theories why people slip into that behavior. I’m not sure if it’s my place to say.
“Alcohol is hiding. That’s it. Alcohol is supposed to give you the feeling that you can’t get sober.
“You’re hiding from something. That’s really speaking in concepts. Alcohol is used to step out of something that isn’t comfortable and douse yourself in a layer of liquid comfort.
“So when you see people that turn to booze most of the time it’s because something inside them doesn’t allow them to feel comfortable and they’re hiding or are trying to get away from the discomfort.

“Human beings are really fucking easy to figure out. They gravitate towards pleasure and they run hard and fast from pain. That’s it! It’s one or the other.
“So when I see somebody who’s involved in destructive behavior, it has to do with them trying to escape from pain.”
