Steel Panther vocalist Michael Starr said the band lost their entire new album in a hard-drive crash. The effort was recorded in full and ready for upload. Starr told Kylie from uDiscover Music during a recent interview (transcribed by UG):

“We finished the whole new record, we were uploading it to SoundCloud, and it got deleted. So we have to record the whole thing all over again.
“I’m serious. The whole thing – gone. The hard drives are gone. I remember the lyrics and what I sang, but we have to just record it all over again. I’m not kidding, it’s true. *takes off glasses* I may look older with my glasses off, but I’m telling the truth – it got deleted.
“But we still have it, we saved a few fragments from one of the hard drives that crashed. We have one song and I have to do the vocals on it.”
What was the album called?
“There’s no name for the record yet.”
What’s it about?

“It’s conceptually about bringing heavy metal back, partying, having a good time and enjoying interviewers backstage.”
That’s disgusting!
Is it? Sorry…
