Drummer Mike Portnoy described the concert as “one of the coolest of my career,” writing before the gig:
“Sons of Apollo’s next show has the makings to be one of the coolest of my career: set in an absolutely breathtaking ancient Roman amphitheater, performing the 2nd set with an orchestra and choir doing a complete set of personally hand-picked cool cover songs… and being filmed for an upcoming Live Blu-ray/DVD/CD!
“I’ve assembled many ‘special shows’ through the years, and I have a feeling this one is going to up there!! I look forward to sharing this epic evening with all of you!”
The drummer wrote after the concert:
“Still buzzing from last night’s epic show in Plovdiv, Bulgaria! It was absolutely a magical evening and I can’t wait to get to work on the Blu-ray so we can share it with you all!”
“Mike Portnoy, you’ve written so many awesome songs with so many bands, you come to this great theater, you have an orchestra behind you and you choose to play covers?! Are you fucking kidding me?! I gave my last buck for this gig. I will never give a dime to see you again!”

Portnoy replied:
“Last night was absolutely magical and I’m sure many people all over the world would’ve loved to [have] been there in your shoes. It was well documented that we were doing a special covers set and we did the entire SoA album [2017’s ‘Psychotic Symphony’] and three DT songs as well! What more could you want? #neverenough #blocked”
After the fan had apparently blocked Portnoy, the drummer shared a screenshot of the comment, writing:
“Look like this coward deleted his stupid tweet… good thing I took a screenshot before he did, so you’ll at least know what I’m responding to… #neverenough #blocked”
