The journalist wrote via Twitter:
“Unsubstantiated reports claim Guns N’ Roses have recorded a cover of T. Rex’s ‘Children if the Revolution’ for inclusion on an upcoming tribute album.
“Other artists on the album are said to include U2, Elton John, Foo Fighters and Joan Jett. Until released consider this to be a rumor.”
Variety reports that the tribute record will be unveiled next year via BMG to accompany a T. Rex documentary coming from the company’s movie department.
Other performers confirmed for the album include Nick Cave, Perry Farrell, Kesha, Borns, and more. A source told Variety that the group’s biggest hit, 1971’s “Bang a Gong (Get It On),” was covered by U2.
