During a recent conversation with Masters of Shred, Dokken guitarist George Lynch talked about Greta Van Fleet being accused of ripping off Led Zeppelin, saying:
“Listen, I rip off everything too – we all do. Who cares? Just own up to it. That’s all you’ve gotta do.
“I steal way more s**t than Greta Van Fleet has ever stolen. See you in court. Good luck. I’ve got really good lawyers. Dewey, Cheatem & Howe [the fictional firm of ‘The Three Stooges’]. Ever heard of ’em?”
During a recent conversation with Guitar World, Greta Van Fleet guitarist Jake Kiszka said about the band’s frequent comparisons with Led Zeppelin, saying:
“We’ve talked about it amongst ourselves, and we’re OK with using Led Zeppelin and other groups as a foundation for what we do.
“To me, it’s no different from Zeppelin being influenced by blues artists, and blues artists who were influenced by French jazz artists.
“So we want to use what we know and move forward, and we will.”
