During a recent episode of David Lee Roth’s podcast show called The Roth Show, David revealed the thing that he never got along with Eddie Van Halen and Alex Van Halen.
Roth talked about the sense of humor of Dutch people and admitted that because of that sense of humor, he never got along with Van Halen brothers.
Here’s the statement:
“Now if I look a little bit blurry, it’s not because I just got back from Amsterdam. It is but it isn’t. It’s because Tom just fixed the focus and maybe times a little blurry.
It’s early in the morning, not for me, I am been to sleep since the late ’80s, which is a very Dutch thing to say.
That kind of sense of humor is Jan Van Halen (Van Halen brothers’ father), Mr. Van Halen. The brothers and I never got along…”
He continued and imitated his conversation between Van Halen brothers:
“The sparks from that collision, boom! (imitates explosion sound) That kind of thing… That’s running with the devil! No, you, you men, you should welcome it! (imitates explosion sound) By talking about love… (imitates explosion sound) Look at her, she’s f*cking crying again, Jamie’s always cried! (imitates explosion sound) You’re late, I’m not late, I’m early!!! (imitates explosion sound)
THAT’S VAN HALEN.”
