Animals as Leaders guitarist Javier Reyes shared an update on the band’s new album which will soon be released.
On the new album, he said:
“Absolutely. Before we left for tour, we actually started demoing some new material, so hopefully, by early next year we’ll have a whole new album out.”
Asked on what the current songs sound like, Javier replied:
“I think there are definitely parts that are a progression of what we’ve been doing, but at the same time, we try not to repeat ourselves too much so we try to implement some new things in the album.
“I think this time around we might even have a guest instrumentalist, maybe a vocalist…
“We don’t know yet, there’s a bunch of stuff in the air. We want to do something different, we already have, you know, five albums under our belt, so I think if we wanted to experiment, now’s the time.”
When asked about collaborating with other bands of the same sort of style, he said:
“Yeah, absolutely. I think it would just be a matter of finding the right band to match it.
“I think sometimes, you know, putting one band with another band on paper seems like a great idea – finding the people in the band, the workflow can definitely have an effect on how the music comes out, but totally not opposed to it.
“We’re into that idea, it’s just a matter of finding the right musicians for the project.”

the word you meant to use in your headline is is EXPECT, not EXCEPT. “Except” doesn’t allow the sentence to mean anything.
