Sad day for Lamb Of God fans.
LAMB OF GOD has officially parted ways with drummer Chris Adler.
Chris has been part of Lamb Of God’s history since the beginning and one of the main reasons behind their well known sound.
His replacement is Art Cruz, who has previously played with PRONG and WINDS OF PLAGUE.
LAMB OF GOD announced Adler‘s exit from the band in a statement earlier today. The group wrote:
“Dear LAMB OF GOD fans, we returned last week from a great European festival run and our final tour with SLAYER in North America. We are excited to keep the momentum going and dive into the next record.
“We’d like to officially welcome Art Cruz, who has been playing drums with us on tour for the last year, as the new drummer of LAMB OF GOD. Art will be joining us in the studio as we begin pre-production and recording of a new album.
“We’re very proud of everything this band has accomplished over the last two decades. We would like to thank Chris Adler for his contributions over the years and wish him the best in his future endeavors.”
LOG Fans are shocked over this decision. Here are some of the responses from core LOG fans:
This was a shock. In a lot of ways, Chris Adler was Lamb of God. The injuries must be too much to fulfill the obligations of that band. He’s better off anyways Lamb of God is below his skill set.
I know this may have been largely due to injuries from his accident. But he might as well had joined Megadeth full time
I can’t wait till it comes out that this was Chris’s decision to leave and focus on other things. 30 years in one band is a LONG time. Between his art, guest spots, and he ain’t getting any younger. Guys nearly 50.
Hmmm, Adler’s drumming gave them their sound. Not sure that was a smart move.
Super crazy, but it seemed to be coming, he seemed to be kinda the driving force behind the band. Freakin’ shame. Hope he does well and that L.o.G. stays together… You know, for the kids sake
