In a new interview with Moshpit Passion, Steel Panther frontman Michael Starr and drummer Stix Zadinia talked about the crazy moshpit stories and more.
Here’s the conversation:
Stix: “We were in Belgium, and there was a guy in the crowd-surf… I saw a guy get up on the moshpit and he was crowd-surfing. And they flipped him over and they were j*rking him off and, like, he got a b*ner and they were sending him all around the top of the thing, they j*rked him off and he came and then he fell asleep, as they were carrying him. … It was a bunch of chicks jacking him off.”
Michael: “Ohhh, I thought it was a bunch of guys!”
Stix: “No, it was a chick pit.”
Michael: “Now that’s f*ckin’ cool, dude, chick pits at a f*ckin’ Steel Panther show.”
Stix: “So if you come to a Steel Panther show, there’s a chance you end up at top of a chick pit.”
When asked about heavy metal:
Michael: “We love heavy metal, we always have loved heavy metal, and I feel like the culture has more awareness now. I think that people, there’s more bands starting to play, maybe not what we do, but it’s still heavy metal. People are growing their hair out, dressing up.
Stix: “I love the freedom of it, man, you can just be free about your super-freakiness and get your weird on, you don’t have to be ashamed if like to rub your d*ck up against the wall by yourself, you can just do it. You know what I’m saying?”
Michael: “Yeah, I love doing that.”
