In a new interview with Talking Metal, Steel Panther’s Lexxi Foxx was asked on how the band felt about sharing the Heavy Montreal festival bill with Slayer and Anthrax.
He said:
“They’re definitely not as pretty as we are. [Laughs] It was really cool.
“We’re friends with a couple of guys from Anthrax and also, you know, we don’t have to worry about any of those bands stealing any of our chicks.
“So that’s kind of a cool thing to have in the back of our minds as well.”
On the new album, Lexxi said:
“It’s really cool, this is my favorite record so far. Of course, I say that every time a new record comes out, but this is my favorite.
“The first song is ‘All I Want to Do Is F*ck (Myself Tonight)’. That’s about me, so I like playing that song a lot because it’s about me. Everyone is super-excited, we got a great response from the videos. I love it because we get to do the songs our fans deserve to hear, it’s been a while.”
On #MeToo movement, he said:
“We love women, we really really do. Today, who really can take themselves that f*cking seriously? It’s about us, and that’s about bringing back the sound of the ’80s and also just the party, the whole thing that a lot of people missed out on.
“And if you happen to laugh at some of the lyrics, then great, have a good time, take it however you want to take it. But we definitely love women, and as far as P*ssy Melter and all that goes, that’s just good things for women, all women want to have their v*ginas melted.”
