Eddie Van Halen is hailed as the greatest guitar player of all time. Eddie formed the band Van Halen back in 1972 along with his brother Alex Van Halen. The band is credited with restoring hard rock music to the forefront of the scene and has been inactive for a while now. In the last few years, there has been a discussion on the possibility of Van Halen reuniting with classic lineup. Although this rumor has been active since 2017, it hasn’t materialized to date. The last update we had was when Sammy Hagar, who fronted the band for more than a decade, hinted about the possibility of a world tour with classic Van Halen lineup. There have been rumours fo Eddie Van Halen facing some serious health issues due to which the tour was cancelled/postponed.
Legends at Blabbermouth report that in a new Interview with KSLX, Van Halen singer David Lee Roth touched on the subject of guitarist Eddie Van Halen’s health.
Here’s the complete statement:
“I’m the face of Van Halen from this point on, most likely. I’m not sure what’s happening with Ed, but he’s probably not gonna answer the bell this time.
“And it’s not my place to guess. But we’ve been in touch. The fellows who I’m working with in terms of my road crew and the amps come from Van Halen.”
Eddie health has been a topic of discussion for a long time. In fact lots of fans think the Van Halen tour didn’t happen due to his health issues.
David further talked about it, saying:
“I hear all the same rumors that you do and it’s not my place to guess.”
The source also noted that rumors were strong earlier this year that the band’s classic lineup would reunite for the first time since 1984, adding:
“It’s unclear why the tour didn’t happen, though there has been online chatter that a health setback involving Eddie Van Halen might have been responsible.”
