Legendary guitar axeman Jason Becker has had a tough 2019 with multiple operations.
Six months after undergoing a lung operation, Jason Becker underwent two cataract surgeries last week.
Here’s the statement from Jason:
“I felt like it was a time for update and guess what, I have some very EXCITING news to share!
“The following Grammy submissions for Triumphant Hearts are available for your Grammy voting consideration. This is the first round of voting, the final nominations will be announced November 20th.
Album Of The Year: Triumphant Hearts
Contemporary Instrumental Album: Triumphant Hearts
Rock Song: We Are One
R&B Song: Hold On To Love
Instrumental Composition: Valley Of Fire
“I am now recovering from two cataract surgeries I had last week. My vision is still funky, but slowly getting better. With my eyesight as it is, hopefully, I won’t accidentally vote for Justin Bieber.”
Jason Becker’s career was cut short by amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). 23 years ago, Jason lost the ability to speak, and he now communicates with his eyes via a system developed by his father. Irrespective of his physical nature, Jason continues composing by using a computer and has since released with Shrapnel Collection, a “best of” album of his favorite songs and three new songs. After releasing a brilliant record recently, Becker is now the longest currently living person with ALS, holding the title since the death of Stephen Hawking in 2018.
