Sad news from Stryper camp.
Axeman Oz Fox is having a tough time with multiple health issues lately. As announced last month, Oz revealed the tumor and requested fans to pray for his health.
Today, Oz’s wife Annie Lobert posted on Facebook, saying:
“This is NOT what we planned!
The doctors words: You have 2 dark “lesions” on your brain that we are very concerned about. They look like tumors.”
TUMORS?! Wait…what did you say doc? And then the emotions kick in…
How do you prepare for the news of 2 brain tumors?
And then how do you handle the sad news they’ve GROWN since first discovered?
I cannot get the picture out of my mind–my husband laying his head on my shoulder (with tears in his eyes) saying, “I don’t want them to drill into my skull and become paralyzed. What if I lose the ability to play guitar?”
And all I could do was hold him…and cry with him.
Last year, Fox had a seizure while performing with a sideband in Las Vegas and was taken to the hospital. ACT scan and MRI discovered two masses: one by his ear and the other in the back of his head. Oz has been undergoing treatment for a long time now and we hope to see him back in action soon. As a founding member of Stryper, Oz Fox recorded and toured with them until the band’s first break up in 1992 but has since rejoined the band. Stryper’s last album titled ‘God Damn Evil’ came out last year which was highly praised by critics and fans.
