Addiction is dangerous and we’ll know it.
In a new interview with SiriusXM’s Eddie Trunk, former KISS member Ace Frehley revealed a story behind his alcohol addiction and how he overcame it.
He said:
“I ended up with five girls in my room in Vegas. I think I kept it going for another month. And then I got a phone call from my daughter, Monique, and she was living in Florida at the time.”
“A lot of alcoholics talk about how they had that moment of clarity… Monique called me up and she goes, ‘Dad, I heard you been drinking again.’ I go, ‘Yeah, but I haven’t done anything else bad, you know? I haven’t done any coke yet, I haven’t done any pills.’ She goes, ‘Dad, it’s time to stop.’ She goes, ‘You better call your sponsor and tell them to take you to a meeting tonight.”
Ace Frehley concluded, saying:
And I looked in the mirror and I looked like sh*t. I just said to her, ‘Alright, honey, I’ll give Jimmy a call.’ … he came and picked me up right after dinner, he took me to my first meeting, and that was 13 years ago. He’s like my guardian angel on earth; I got a lot of them floating around me – after 10 car accidents, someone’s got to be helping me.”

Currently, KISS is on its farewell tour which is expected to continue for two more years. The band kicked off the tour on January 31st in Vancouver, Canada and currently features 186 additional dates that run through October 3, 2020, in Fort Worth, United States.
KISS is making a hell lot of money on this tour, which was revealed by Gene Simmons. Simmons hinted the farewell tour would likely gross between $150 million and $200 million, “not counting ancillaries, licensing, merchandise and stuff like that.” Interestingly there have been accusations of band members lip-syncing on this tour. This was observed on their first leg of the tour. Former Skid Row singer Sebastian Bach defended the band saying that the band did not lip-sync at the show he attended.
Kiss will perform their final show on July 17, 2021, in New York City with most of the previous members expected to join them on stage.
