Things in Van Halen camp have been quite silent with fans anticipating reunion tour.
In a new interview with Missouri radio station KSHE 95, David Lee Roth revealed an interesting story behind Van Halen’s debut album.
Roth claims he wrote every song on the album with no inputs from the other members.
Roth is expected to play these songs live on the upcoming shows in the U.S.
Here’s the statement:
“No. I wrote the songs. I wrote every word you heard, every syllable, every melody. I structured even the guitar solos on that first album.
Why do you think the solos later changed so radically? I sang the solos for Jamie’s Cryin’ and Runnin’ With The Devil etc…”
We do not sound like Van Halen live – you have not heard this. Van Halen live is lead, bass, drums – here, we start with three or four guitars and we bring it with an unforgiving attitude.
Van Halen, a legendary band that’s credited with restoring hard rock music to the forefront of the scene have been inactive for a while now. The last Van Halen album titled A Different Kind Of Truth was released back in 2012 and was hugely successful. The band toured for few years and eventually stopped touring once the album cycle ended. In the last few years, there has been a discussion on the possibility of Van Halen reuniting with classic lineup. Although this rumor has been active since 2017, it hasn’t materialized to date. The last update we had was when Sammy Hagar, who fronted the band for more than a decade, hinted about the possibility of a world tour with classic Van Halen lineup.

Thats so freakin rad DLR sang eruption and EVH played it. I always thought DLR was the inventor of rap music because he just talked in a regular voice while singing. Shows what I know.
