In a new interview with Metal Dave from 2 Fast 2 Die, Michael Monroe speaks his mind on a variety of subjects.
Michael is currently promoting his new album titled “One Man Gang”.
The former Hanoi Rocks frontman is promoting his new solo release “One Man Gang“.
The singer also replies to a question about his influence on the 80’s hair-metal scene.
Monroe says:
“I guess it bothers me that most of those bands missed the point. They were more into their hair and partying than they were the music. The music and attitude were always more important to me. Anybody can party and pose and act like an idiot.”
The singer continues:
“A lot of those bands sold millions of records, but they acted like morons and gave real rockers a bad name. It’s almost embarrassing that people might think I would be like that. I’ve never been with a gr*upie my whole life. I’ve just never been into that whole scene.”

Paging Mr. Neil. Mr. Vince Neil…
Yep, that right there. I’m sure that’s the first person he’d be referring to. ?
It seems like Michael’s past smack habit has rattled his brain. He was always about his hair & makeup, scarves & clothes… Songwriting was never his strong suit, & Hanoi’s. Catalog is littered with cover versions of Hoyt Axton,Mott the Hoople & Creedence Clearwater songs. Any songwriting within the band came from Andy McCoy. As for his statement about groupies… All those disappointed ladies found out Michael likes boys.
you are a moron.
Hanoi Rocks has tones of gems, absolute classics of their own. I do like hair bands, but Hanoi’s catalogue stands above any of them.
uhhh, did he look in the mirror in the 80s? He looked like a inner-city kid’s meth-addicted aunt.
What a lying sac of s h i t!!!
Here we go again, another singer who tries to sell his music to the enemies of “Hair/Glam” Metal speaking badly of it just to like certain people.
Who?
Sorry poser, you were not a real rocker.
Yeah look at their albums most of them have the same songs on multiple albums. Try putting out more original songs instead recycling your old ones.
He can go pound sand. Hanoi who?
