MÖTLEY CRÜE bassist Nikki Sixx continues to urge everyone to stay home to help delay the spread of the novel coronavirus.
Nikki shared a long statement addressing the importance of social distancing and not to think about the concerts possibly hinting The Stadium Tour with Poison & Def Leppard.
Here’s what he said:
“We are trying to make each day special while in isolation. Some days it feels like Groundhog Day and other days/nights it feels like a weird vacation. Somedays I can see the frustration building up in my family of not knowing when it’s gonna end and other days I hear laughs and pranks being pulled around the house.
“There is no perfect answer to this riddle we are going through right now.
“I have to say we are beyond grateful for all the hero’s working tirelessly on the front lines saving people’s lives while the rest of us stay home and try flattening the curve.
“I am grateful I am sober right now.
“I am beyond hopeful we will get through this sooner rather than later. Either which way we’re all in this together.
“Be kind to each other, let people know you are there for them (even a simple phone call is enough to change someone’s day).
“Don’t worry about sports, concerts or getting back to your life before COVID 19 right now. Pray, meditate and let go of the outcome right now. We are powerless. Do the right thing. Don’t be selfish. Don’t act as if you might get it, act as though you might have it and don’t know it. Protect everybody around you and most of all your family and loved ones.
“As Tommy [Lee, MÖTLEY CRÜE drummer] said yesterday when he texted me ‘Happy Weird A*s Easter Bro’. Indeed. Indeed.”
Joan Jett is the latest musician to stress the importance of international solidarity as we address the effects of COVID-19, the disease caused by the new coronavirus.
Jett took to her social media to share tips for navigating the coronavirus and she included the following message:
“The next 3-7 days are critical / Let’s all take the advice so we can protect each other &get back to doing what we [love] — playing rocknroll for you. Even if it hasn’t hit your community yet, this is real &we all must take it seriously. Can’t wait to see you all once we #BeatTheVirus”
With the recent rumors on Motley Crue canceling the upcoming The Stadium Tour, fans are confused and waiting for the official announcement.
MÖTLEY CRÜE drummer Tommy Lee confirmed that the band’s “The Stadium Tour” with DEF LEPPARD, POISON and JOAN JETT & THE BLACKHEARTS is happening.
Here’s the statement:
“We’re all in constant communication”
“[Bassist] Nikki [Sixx] and I have been in several production meetings. You’re talking multiple stadiums, so it’s like two kids in a candy store putting together something people are going to walk [away from] saying, ‘Are you f*cking kidding me?!’ That’s our mission right now, and it’s definitely headed in that direction.”
There is little indication as to when we might get the coronavirus under control to the extent that public gatherings and normal business can resume. Even some of the more conservative estimates say certain areas may be locked down until the end of the summer and possibly into the fall.
The Stadium Tour has sold out 75-80% of the tickets and fans are eagerly waiting for the tour.
