In 2020, we came across news that Iron Maiden & Judas Priest will possibly tour in 2021. This pumped up all the rock and metal fans worldwide.
Recently the topic has been brought up again in the Maiden & Priest community with a rumor of a tour happening in 2022.
The news on the tour was originally revealed by the famous Radio host Eddie Trunk in 2020, calling this tour package “The Battle Of The Metal Gods“.
This tour will happen in the US and co-headlined by IRON MAIDEN and JUDAS PRIEST with support provided by LAMB OF GOD, TESTAMENT, and METAL CHURCH.
Trunk allegedly claimed that “The Battle Of The Metal Gods” tour will visit “as many stops as possible, including L.A., New York, Las Vegas, and even Canada.”
It will include performances at arenas and amphitheaters taking place in the spring and summer of next year.
Interestingly, the rumors of this giant tour package come days after JUDAS PRIEST bassist Ian Hill talked about a possible collaboration with IRON MAIDEN:
“It will come. Eventually, there will come a time when maybe you aren’t able to perform to your optimum or high standards anyway, and you have to admit to yourself that you’ve got to do other things. There will come a time, but for us, it’s not yet. I can see the reasons why they’re doing it, but we’re enjoying it too much at the moment to consider quitting!”
Ian was also quoted as saying:
“There’s always the big question of Judas Priest and Iron Maiden. That would be really interesting if we could get that together before some of us die. It’d be great! [Laughs] There are a lot of other bands we’ve played with. We’ve got Uriah Heep, specials guests on this tour. I was a fan of Uriah Heep way back in the day. They go back at least as long as we do, if not a bit further You run into these people over the years. We’ve played with quite a few of them, but we’ve got to get together with Iron Maiden.”
Legendary Iron Maiden have been on tour for more than 2 years now after the release of their last studio album. Iron Maiden celebrated the success of the album with a world tour with a phenomenal production. On the other side, Judas Priest released a successful record titled ‘Firepower’ which cracked billboards and other charts worldwide. Judas Priest have been on tour for more than a year since the release of the record. Priest main songwriter Glenn Tipton hasn’t joined the band live for more than a few dates since last year. It’s interesting to hear that there’s a possibility of an epic tour featuring Iron Maiden and Judas Priest along with thrash legends Testament.
Editor Note: As mentioned, this is a rumor so it may happen or may not happen at all. Take it with a pinch of salt.

Skolnick w/ Testament???
What’s your question???
Just curious if Alex Skolnick will be returning for lead guitar duties w/ Testament (87-92, 01, 08, 12, 16 & 2020) on this tour? I ask because he has quite a bit of solo work in the coming year… not to mention a few postponed gigs too ?
This is old news….
real old. hope it happens but this article says nothing.
It would be fantastic if they
would come to South Africa,Priest still owe us one.
Amen!
I’m really beginning to wonder what the hell is wrong with people. I was actually at the tumor where iron maiden Judas priest played together. It’s her package started out with Judas priest headlining but iron maiden record sales were so good in America that they end up being the headliner. This was on the number of the beast tour the beast on the road. And it was an amazing show with Axe, Judas priest and iron maiden. people keep acting like they’ve never done shows together and it’s just bothering my mind
And Maiden actually toured with Priest in 1980 with Maiden opening with Paul singing and supporting their first album
Agreed. There have been a few tours together. Seems everyone has amnesia. LOL
I also saw halford open for maiden on the dance of death tour
That’s awesome. I remember halford opening for Maiden here on the brave New world tour. Good times.
Deffo dude
In Canada we got Girlschool and Scorpions on their Blackout tour supporting Maiden for Beast on the Road.
Here on that Blackout tour, Scorpions headlined and Bon Jovi opened the shows…. of course this was before “Slippery When Wet” came out.
I remember a show over here in the UK bon Jovi opened for van halen
Never happened, Priest never opened for Maiden
And how the hell do you know? Were you there? I was there two shows in a row Kansas City Missouri and St Louis Missouri and priest was on before Maiden they played 80-90 minutes and Maiden came on and played about 2 hours and I don’t appreciate being called a liar
Never seen the tour I was to young at the time but I know it deffo happend
European tour of 2000. Brave New World. Halford opened for Iron Maiden, but they played all Judas Priest songs.
Totally dude I saw an interview with halford I think it was talking about that tour and how at first they never got on cos priest is slightly older than maiden and that the guys from maiden where joking around to much
Why lamb of god? I’m going to have to leave the venue then return when they’re finished… Sabaton would be a great band for this tour- a passing of the torch.
I was just about to say the same thing! Metal Church is cool though.
Maiden, Priest, Testament. I’m erect. ?
I wish Saxon and Accept was part of that Tour !!!
