Ratt singer Stephen Pearcy was recently interviewed by Shawn Ratches for the Laughing Monkey Music podcast.
The singer spoke about guitarist Jake E. Lee:
“Yeah. Already he was kind of… I don’t know if we even approached him back then. I know it’s a he’s a whole, Yeah, he’s a one guitar band guy. He needs that because of his playing and and that’s one of the reasons — I don’t know maybe he didn’t like me or something [laughs] towards the end — but you know, that was one of the reasons he left.
”He’s not a two guitar guy. I wanted to bring another guy in and start this whole new thing. Started out as me singing and playing guitar, then no, ‘Hey Jake, you’re the guy’ and so who knows but we’re not talking any of that now. I think that it would be great for the fans, our friends. I call our fans ‘friends.’ I think it would be way cool. We’ll see what happens. I make no promises but one thing is — I put it out there — I’m not going to do a record without the original guys. It just doesn’t make sense.”
