Watch George Lynch rejoining Dokken on stage at Richmond Harley-Davidson in Ashland, Virginia (July 16th).
Don Dokken was mumbling throughout the set with his vocals hardly audible. Goerge Lynch absolutely smashed it.
Dokken fans expressed their disappointment as well as supported Don Dokken for still rocking hard at this age.
Here’s what the fans said:
“I know Don has been to hell and back with his health over the last few years. I applaud him for putting himself out there, knowing he’s lost all the power that made his voice so amazing but I wouldn’t pay for a ticket at this point. That said, it’s definitely not Vince Neil-level bad.”
“Sadly another Vince Neil in the making”
“I can barely hear Don.. He mumbles through the whole thing.. But George…. You sound as awesome as ever”
“I love Dokken but Don is just speaking the words now. I don’t think I’d enjoy the show even with Lynch there. DL Roth pulled this sh*t on his solo tours. Hated it. I know Don is doing his best but its now at a point where it not viable for him to actually really sing anymore.”
“He was at his worst last year when his arm was barely working. I have to give the guy a break at this point due to his health issues. His habits certainly did harm to his voice, along with improper technique in 2007 when he blew out his high range.”
“Don’s health has taken him through hell and back over the last few years. It’s amazing that he’s able to perform at all.”
“Dons voice has declined so much over the years. Seeing him now is a saddening experience. I wish him all the luck in the world but will not see them again.”
George also joined Dokken in Moline, Illinois (July 9th) and in June at the Live United Live Music Festival in Sunbury, Pennsylvania.
