Another day and another bad performance by Don Dokken.
Below is the fan-filmed video footage of DOKKEN‘s August 14 concert at Speaking Rock in El Paso, Texas.
Dokken fans expressed disappointment on social media, saying:
“Again everytime I see Don perform I cringe!! He just can’t sing anymore!!”
“I am still a huge fan of Dokken’s albums but I couldn’t even make it through that video clip let alone a whole concert,”
“Don was one of my favorite singer back in the day, he continues to make a joke of himself going live without hitting any note, it sounds like a coke addict talking when he sings”
“Oh. My. God. This is sad to watch. Even sadder to hear. There comes a time when it’s time to call it quits – or at least hire a singer and just play rhythm guitar.”
“Best part was when the bass player walked out with wife and gave her a kiss. I can’t figure out who is worse, Don or Vince Meal. Overall this was f*cking awful. Please retire. I cant believe the other 3 dudes in this band are wasting their time. What a shame.”
“Band sounds great, Don you’re done dude. Saw you 10 years ago and you could barely do it then. You’re embarrassing yourself, just like Coverdale, Vince , Stanley , etc etc ….the music will live on tho “

80’s metal is going out in a shameful way. They are killing their own legacies.
At least the metal era managed not to OD like the grunge era did.
But their legacy will be intact.
Both will. Its not a judgement, its really a fact. Metal didn’t lose that many people as compared to the grunge era. It reminded me of the late 60s and the Forever 27 club. Janis, Jimi, Morrison, etc. So many gone in such a short period of time.
Drugs are great…
Its sad to see so many of my favorites get old. But, it’s part of life. I don’t hate on the current, I will cherish the past.
the fact here is that while people still paying to see Dokken there will always be a promotor who will hired him… unfortunately too many old fans still paying just for nostalgia more than to expecting to see a decent performance, Don it’s done but people still pay for him… same with Vince
I really wanted to see Don and George play again in December at the chance theatre in NY but the live stuff is too ruff. So as an alternative pull up Dokken 1988 philly on YouTube and let it rip ??????
