Recently talking to The Eddie Trunk Podcast, singer Sebastian Bach talked about Skid Row’s 1991 album “Slave to the Grind”, where he said:
“My dad painted the cover of ‘Slave to the Grind,’ and I don’t think people know this, but that was actually live people modeling that whole scene.
“And I’ve had these archives for 35 years now or whatever the number is, and now that we’re doing the 30th-anniversary tour, I’m scanning all the photos from the making of the cover, and I’m going to display them on the screens with the cover.
“And it’s just another – it’s a way of paying tribute to my dad, who obviously I miss, and all I’m doing is I’m doing what I can, obviously it would be, in a perfect world, appropriate to be doing this with Skid Row, but I can’t do that now.
“The anniversary thing is cool, but it gets kind of ridiculous when you’re doing the 33rd or the 42nd, you got to be honest with the years.
“You only get so many 30-year anniversaries, so I’m doing what I can. Maybe for the 35th, it will be the whole band together, who knows what can happen in the future, but I’m just doing what I can.
“I can get hit by a truck tomorrow and nobody would ever see these archives. I’m just doing what I can, trying to get through the Covid, trying to make this tour complete, as you said on your show yesterday, I’m on the hook for the bus, so let’s get this done.
“I really liked going to see, when guys put out a book like Duff McKagan – when he put out his book, he had a slideshow going with photos you never saw, I find that so interesting, a lot more interesting than just like a canvas backdrop.
“I had a whole video show going the whole time, and I’ve been doing this all my life, and I can’t bring pyro with me really, but I can bring some TVs.”
