As reported earlier, there’s a bootleg t-shirt being circulated on the internet which reveals the Van Halen tour date in Chicago at Wrigley Field on 07/04/2019.
This was revealed by a Twitter user as you can see here.
Wolfgang Van Halen has come out and confirmed that this t-shirt design is fake & no such design was approved by Van Halen.
Here’s what Wolfgang said:
“Painfully fake. Said this a year ago when somebody made this the day after my Howard Stern interview when the kitchen sink tour was first talked about.”
“What an incredible coincidence that this picture surfaced right after my Howard Stern interview a year ago where I talked about the kitchen sink tour for the first time.”
Earlier on The Mike & Carla Morning Show, former Van Halen singer Sammy Hagar talked about his relationship with the late Eddie Van Halen.
The singer was asked:
“You and Eddie Van Halen were dear friends. And things do happen, and you do bump heads, but I understand you guys did somewhat reconcile towards the end. I hope so. We do get older and sometimes things sit a little harder, and those emotional things also hit a little harder.”.
Here’s what Sammy said:
“You bet. If Eddie and I would not have connected towards the end, I don’t know how would I have dealt with it.
“It would have been a lot harder to accept what happened to him.
“It’s still hard, of course, but without him and I talking and actually becoming friends, and start talking about, ‘Boy, we’re going to get together next year, we’re going to do this, Eddie, you’ve got to get your health together!’
“Boy, the word ‘easier’ is not the word. It made it more… acceptable for me. I never talked about it because we had to understand it.
“We weren’t going to talk about it, we were going to save it, make a whole bunch of noise like last year was supposed to be.
“But it never happened, it’s a shame because I guess it was the big one. The plan was to go out with all of us, Wolfie [Van Halen] opening and all that kind of stuff.
“That would have been so awesome, I dreamt that from when I was in the band, I was open-minded to that from then.”
Well, this is interesting and cool!
“Supposedly this is a shirt of the “Kitchen Sink Tour” that never was.
I was told that only a few venues had approval to print some shirts & this would have been in Chicago at Wrigley Field on 07/04/2019.”Wow! @GregRenoff @mitchlafon pic.twitter.com/Qy8cfy5w2H
