Guitarist Alex Lifeson told Guitar World that there’s a possibility to work on new Rush music with fellow band member Geddy Lee.
He said:
“We’re not putting any pressure on it or anything. We had a lot of good years together, and we still love each other very much. I talk to Geddy every other day, we’re best friends.
”There’s more to our life together than just writing music. So if it happens, it happens. And it’ll happen when it happens.”
In a previous interview with Eddie Trunk, Alex Lifeson stated that any reunion for Rush would not happen in the future, and it’s not possible for Rush to exist without Neil Peart’s presence.
However, the musician added that this doesn’t mean that he and Geddy Lee can’t collaborate on other projects, and he is open to working with Geddy Lee.

I would like to see Geddy Lea and Alex Lifespan recruit some younger up and coming cream of the crop musicians (perhaps with a knowledge in classical music) and release an album and put together a new touring project. Give the band a new name.
Get three black chicks to sing backup and support vocals, a drummer with an additional percussionist. And one or more keyboard players. Something similar to Dream Theatre and Trans Siberian Orchestra. Then they couldnt be accused of trying carry on by replacing Neil Peart.
Great idea J!
I wouldn’t mind some Rush tribute shows with Dave Grohl on drums. It would likely never happen and I don’t know if Dave’s a Neil fan? I saw video of Grohl on Drums with Lenny and Slash doing Ace of Spades at Lenny’s BD party and it was awesome!
Spelling mishap on previous post.,Forgive me Lemmy!! RIP.
I wonder if Geddy would be bored just doing bass and vocals! Also, if you have some backup singers, who is going to harmonize with him?
