In a recent chat with ”The Eddie Trunk Podcast”, Alice Cooper reflected on his relationship with the late singer Meat Loaf.
Here’s what he said:
“He was very theatrical, so that attracted me and those albums were musical. Steinman wrote all those really great theatrical pieces. I’ve always wanted to write with him, but I think it would have been like I was barging Meat Loaf. We toured with Meat Loaf, and he would go on stage.
”He never let go with the audience; I used to love that. And then, he had the voice, monster voice. He was just so good. We did a movie together, and we did ‘Roadie’ together. Every time I would see him, there was a closeness there. I understood him, and I think he understood me and what we were doing.”
