With Motley Crue done with ‘The Stadium Tour’, there are plans for the band to tour other countries sometime next year onwards.
It was revealed by singer Vince Neil to Las Vegas Review-Journal that Mötley Crüe are planning to tour with Def Leppard in Mexico, South America, and Europe in 2023 and in America in 2024.
Our folks at Metal Sludge reported earlier today that John 5 could be replacing Mick Mars in Mötley Crüe for future shows. Age is catching up & it’s evident that Mick may not be able to perform live in the coming years.
Metal Sludge‘s article indicates in part:
“Metal Sludge have been tipped off by a few in the industry that John 5 is strongly being considered and just might be the guy you will see playing guitar for Motley Crue at some point in the future.
Now John 5 has shared a throwback picture of himself taken with Mötley Crüe’s lead guitarist Mick Mars on stage and clarified the matter of whether he will be the second guitarist on the Stadium Tour.
Here is what John 5 said in his recent Instagram post by mentioning Rob Zombie and the photographer Rob Fenn:
“Mars. Rob Zombie. Rob Fenn.”
A fan whose name is Todd asked in the comments:
“Any truth to the rumor that you were going to be filling in with Motley Crue on the Stadium Tour or as a second guitar player?”
John 5 responded as:
“No, just a rumor.”
You can see the post here.
Earlier today, a new article just hit Blabbermouth today that notes John 5 may no longer be a member of the Rob Zombie band.
Replacement guitarist Mike Riggs played last night for Zombie at the Aftershock event in Sacramento.
Blabbermouth writes:
“According to Rock Feed, John 5 and Rob Zombie “no longer follow each other on social media,” lending credence to the theory that John 5 is no longer a member of Rob‘s band.”
There is no confirmation of this from Motley Crue, John 5, or any other camp yet.

That would be awesome if Mick Mars isn’t able.
No.It’s not Crue without Mick.period.
Vince Neil
Tommy Lee
Mick Mars
Nikki Sixx
Does it matter? Hired gun. I would complain if they wanted to put out a new album.

Agreed, Mick Mars is all Motley… Couldn’t be Crue with out the Motley one…. Only one Mars only one Motley Crue…. But if Mick says he can’t go on because of health I do understand because I’ve got the same disease that Mick has. I’m also a lead guitar player from Indiana. So I’ve got a lot in common with Mick. Please keep Mick in your prayers cause this disease is very depressing… It’s only Motley if Mick says it’s Motley…. Peace and love Sonny P.
I’d go see them with a better singer
No ! I think it should JJX from the band Shout at the Devil and PA based heavy metal band !
Mick mars is the sond of motley
Obviously, Mick’s health has declined, and he’s older. He’s still young though. It’s sad to accept the fact he may not be able to tour any longer, the Crue will not be the same without his genius guitar playing. Mick would truly be missed by all Crue heads.
John 5 would be a great consideration to tour with the band. I hope what ever decision is made is for the best.
?
Is there anyone who can quickly replace Vince Neil?
LMAO ?
Just hang it up no since going forward without Mars and Vince`s voice may have improved but for how long??? Call it a day guys I hate to say it but…We all have the memories and your music.
No ?
Nope! Motley had a great run & should at least retire touring under the band name. In my opinion only band you change 1 member it’s not the band anymore. Like Crab era ,great record but wasn’t Motley.
Who cares Vince can’t breath to sing he’s doing more talking than singing
Crue unfortunately is just doing a money grab at the expense of the fans
It will be a tragedy it mick can’t go on but I think John 5 will make him proud and keep the rock coming
As long as it has Mick Mars blessing, and he continues to work with the band when he can.
mick is god
Jake Lee would be better !
IF and only if Mick won’t be there, then John 5 has my vote, he’s amazing
My first show was girls, girls, girls ( best show ever ) and I’ve seen them throughout the years since. As a Cruhead I can’t imagine Mick not being there. Sometimes it just doesn’t work with out the original members, in my opinion . From my first purchase of too fast for love I bought on vinyl( original on lethur records ) for a 100 bucks on Melrose. To Vince Neil autographing my Dr. Feelgood CD when I met him at a bar in so cal . To Mick Mars who threw guitar pics out the crowd ( I got 2 ) If Mick bows out he will be missed & it would not be the same ? If he does retire…..
Thank You Motley for the Memories ✌?
With all respect to Mr. 1313, I have a feeling he might have hand picked John5 in all honesty I believe John5 would be the man for the job. He’s incredible as is 1313.
How about Jake E Lee? Rumor has it that MC was considering JEL back in the early days.
