During a recent conversation with Syncin’ Stanley YouTube channel, Ratt’s Stephen Pearcy blasts the bands that are using backing tracks during the live concerts, calling it “bullsh*t”. Stephen pointed out Nikki Sixx.
Stephen said:
“Well, there are artists who need that, the Taylor Swifts and all these other people, maybe. Maybe not even her; she’s a real kind of gal.
“I think it’s bullsh*t, really. And my peers are doing that sh*t.
“I love my guys in Motley (Crue), but when that sh*t [is] everywhere, on stage, and your bass is piped in, that kind of stuff kind of eats me. But it’s not my gig.
”I don’t do it. I wouldn’t do it. I’m old school, new-minded, but old school… I love the real sh*t. But, you know, it is what it is.”
MÖTLEY CRÜE played its first concert with guitarist John 5 Friday night (February 10) at Atlantic City, New Jersey’s 7,000-capacity Hard Rock Live at Etess Arena.
The show also marked the first date of the band’s 2023 “The World Tour” with DEF LEPPARD.
Fans went to social media and shared their opinion of the performance. Everyone was surprised to see John 5 delivering a fantastic. powerful performance. Fans also called out Vince Neil for delivering a subpar vocal performance.
Here’s the response from the fans:
“John 5 sounds like the actual recordings of the songs what a salute to Mick.”
“Kinda cool to see John 5 so animated up there. Laughing and having a good time”
“John 5 looks like he’s having so much fun. I don’t think they could’ve found a better replacement”

“Vocal backing track sounds great. John 5 is a great guy.”
“John 5 works ’cause he is just being himself and not trying to imitate Mick Mars.”
“John 5 is incredible!! I love what he has to offer and I think he is gonna give the Crue more years of touring”
