Def Leppard’s Rick Allen was attacked by a 19-year-old teenager outside a hotel in Florida, confirming as well that the drummer will press charges for the attack, in which an unrelated woman was also injured.
Police reports say that Cleveland resident Max Edward Hartley was hiding behind a pillar outside the Four Seasons in Fort Lauderdale, and jumped to attack Rick Allen when the drummer went outside to smoke.
As a result, the drummer fell and hit his head, and Hartley ran away. The attacker was then arrested at a nearby hotel, where he was breaking car windows.
A female bystander tried to stop the assault and help Allen but was also attacked as a result, with Hartley hitting her and dragging her by the hair.
The teenager was released from jail yesterday, March 15, and will now respond to two counts of battery, four counts of criminal mischief, and abuse of an elderly or disabled adult. (via Spin)
