David Lee Roth is almost 70 and still having a good time onstage.
Unfortunately, his vocal performance has gone worse in the last few years.
Below you can watch fan video footage of David Lee Roth returning on stage with the all-star covers band Royal Machines at the Michelob Ultra Arena at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, Nevada on March 23rd.
It’s difficult to see him butcher Van Halen classic ‘Panama’.

I hope those people didn’t pay to hear that. Someone needs to tell him to stop performing. Age catches up to everyone.
Running out of breath like Vince Neil does. Obviously hasn’t maintained his instrument. sad
Dave trying to put that “Roth” spin on a classic….just stop, Dave….just stop
Stop it!
The man is 300 Years old. Give poor Dave a Break .
one break coming up ☺️
🤣🤣🤣
One break, coming up!
terrible…
He was never good live even in his younger days. Sammy was night and day better.
And he is 75 yrs old – doesn’t even look it! Can’t hit some of those high notes, but still better musically than Roth…
wrong! Go watch the Oakland videos…he’s on top of his game and they were on top of the world.
Here’s the deal. There are always critics. Looks like to me fans paid to see Diamond Dave. Supply and Demand.Let the free market okay itself out in Nevada. It always has, it always will. Until then, go enjoy karaoke my friend and get on stage and see if you can do better !!!
I think this was a Home Depot corporate event. Not sure anyone paid to attend their own company gathering.
Absolutely needs to stay home and just cherish his younger days.
He sounds good on songs like Wait.
Yes, he and Vince Neil should perform for prisoners in some kind of weird, “Scared Straight” program. “Stop committing crimes or we’ll keep singing.”
Dace was NEVER a good singer, he was a preformer and one, if not, the best frontmen in the histrory of Rock n Roll! But, yeah his voice is completely gone now and he should really just stick to crooning!
Hey Dave wanna go get buzzed with us here in Las Vegas ?
Come on Dave, gimme a break……one break coming up!
Dave, there’s a line from Clint Eastwood that says “A man needs to know his limits”. You have exceeded yours. Go out with some dignity.
This is terrible, whoever runs Michelob Ultra Arena at Mandalay Bay needs to tell Dave, that if he can’t deliver a better performance he’s fired!
Love Diamond Dave!
DLR with VanHalen never sang like the album. He always butchered the songs.
I always liked David but the word RETIRE needs to be the only thing coming out his mouth.
Dave discovered a “crack” in his voice yers ago , that enabled him to sing highly notes than he could as a young man . Almost what we call “mixed voice “ He’s not executing it properly , so it’s sounds horrible and screechy . If he’d stick with the original melodies, he’d be fine, but he seems to think it sounds more impressive this way ……it’s doesn’t
I love vintage Van Halen. With that said, David Lee Roth was never even a good singer. He was a good performer and average singer. Eddie Van Halen was a great guitarist, Michael Anthony is a better than good bass player and Alex Van Halen was a serviceable drummer. Together, they made great music. When the Van Halen brothers reconciled with David Lee Roth, it was too late. The talent of Eddie (RIP), could not make up for the lack of showmanship as well as no vocal range from DLR, who could only shuffle on a piece of plywood. With the one dimensional and flat Wolfgang on bass instead of Michael Anthony, real Van Halen fans could only reflect on how much electricity there once was!
This is just a typical Dave performance of the last 30+ years, miss timed, out of key, forgotten lyrics. No effort in the performance, obviously no preparation. He thinks he can just show up and we will be wowed. And take note, I am a die hard Dave guy from the beginnig. Saw so many of the VH reunion shows and was disappointed leaving every one, because of his shoddy performances, Any one living east of Ohio, I strongly suggest seeing a band call Completely Unchained. Their show is like being transported back to the early eighties, unbelievable energy, and spot on music and vocals.
