Nikki Sixx has confirmed that MÖTLEY CRÜE has entered the studio with longtime producer Bob Rock to record some of the band’s brand-new music.
Late Wednesday night (April 19),Sixx shared a photo of him apparently working on new CRÜE lyrics, and he included the following message:
“I’m sure you all know how important lyrics are to me. Studio is a highly creative space and with us recording I thought I’d try to get a creative head start on some of these for Vince [Neil, vocals]. I got one done and gonna try to wrap up the next one and show it to the guys. Bob Rock is pushing us hard and bringing out the best in us. Tommy [Lee, drums] is playing his a*s off. Jesus these drums sound huge. Probably lay down my final bass tracks in the next few days.
Nikki continued:
“John [5, guitar] is so fast I’m sure he will get all the songs done in just a few days. But then again Bob Rock loves those huge walls of guitars so it could take a moment. Gonna take a break from recording to fly to Kansas to rehearse and then play the @nfl draft show and then back to finish it all off. When will it come. Not sure. We haven’t thought that far down the line. Just letting the music guide us.”
Mötley Crüe‘s longtime fans are on edge due to the escalating tension between the band and guitarist Mick Mars. The situation reached a boiling point when Mars rejected a severance package from his former bandmates, resulting in a countersuit. Amidst the drama, Vince Neil has finally broken his silence on Twitter with a statement that may leave fans with mixed emotions.
The feud between Mars and the band started last October when the guitarist announced his retirement from touring due to ongoing health struggles. Mötley Crüe confirmed that Mars would remain a part of the band and introduced John 5 as his replacement. However, this decision ignited rumors and ultimately led to Mars rejecting the band’s severance package offer, which would have given him a percentage of earnings from the upcoming 2023 tour without his participation. Feeling insulted, Mars filed a countersuit against his former bandmates.
Despite the ongoing legal battle, Mötley Crüe is moving forward with plans to create new music. Bassist Nikki Sixx confirmed on social media that the band is in the studio with John 5, and drummer Tommy Lee’s Instagram post featuring himself, Sixx, and John 5 reaffirms the band’s commitment to continue working together. However, some fans have expressed mixed feelings about the “New Crüe,” as they believe the essence of Mötley Crüe lies in the original members, and creating music without Mars would not be the same.
Neil’s statement on Twitter marks a new chapter in the band’s history as they move forward without one of their original members. It is uncertain how the lawsuit and Mars’ involvement will impact Mötley Crüe in the long run, but for now, the band seems determined to forge ahead.
Vince Neil’s first tweet after the Mick Mars feud read, “Great to be back in the studio with Bob Rock and the boys!” This statement implies that the band is focused on creating new music and moving forward despite the legal battle.
Although the future of Mötley Crüe may be uncertain, fans can take solace in the fact that the band is determined to continue making music. As the legal battle between Mars and his former bandmates unfolds, fans can only hope for an amicable resolution and a continued legacy for the iconic rock band.
