DOKKEN is set to make a comeback with the release of their highly anticipated studio album, titled “Heaven Comes Down,” scheduled for September. Excitement surrounds the band’s latest project, as they recently offered a glimpse into the album’s first single through behind-the-scenes photos from the video shoot. The shoot took place at the renowned Meow Wolf’s House of Eternal Return in Santa Fe, New Mexico, showcasing the band’s collaboration with director Chris Eyre.
In a statement accompanying the photos, the frontman Don Dokken expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming record. He shared, “Hey everybody! We just finished a great music video shoot at Meow Wolf’s House of Eternal Return with Director Chris Eyre for our new record coming out in September titled, Heaven Comes Down.” Don also took the opportunity to recommend Meow Wolf, a captivating immersive arts venture, to fans and shared his appreciation for the unique jewelry designed by Cody Sanderson.
It’s worth noting that the title of DOKKEN’s new album, “Heaven Comes Down,” should not be confused with the band’s 1984 song of the same name, featured on their LP “Tooth And Nail.” The forthcoming album represents a fresh chapter in DOKKEN’s musical journey, building upon their established discography while exploring new creative avenues.
Bassist Chris McCarvill provided an update on the album’s progress earlier this year, assuring fans that the long-awaited follow-up to their 2012 release, “Broken Bones,” is fully completed. The album will be released through Silver Lining Music, a label owned by Thomas Jensen, one of the founders of Germany’s iconic Wacken Open Air festival.
When asked about the album’s sound and what fans can anticipate, Chris expressed his admiration for Don Dokken’s vocal performance. He revealed:
“I have to tell you is Don sounds fantastic on it. He sounds great. I talked to him on the phone about this a bunch of times, and it was, like, he re-did his vocals three times. He didn’t just phone it in; he really worked hard on it. And I can honestly say that, as someone that — I liked DOKKEN growing up and stuff — I can’t imagine any DOKKEN fan being disappointed by it; I really can’t. Don really sounds good on it.”
As the release of “Heaven Comes Down” draws near, fans eagerly await the arrival of DOKKEN’s new chapter, anticipating a collection of songs that will captivate their hearts and reaffirm the band’s enduring talent.
