In a heartwarming encounter at Finland’s Rockfest 2023 festival, members of Mötley Crüe and Michael Monroe crossed paths backstage. Recently, during a Q&A session on Twitter, Nikki Sixx addressed this reunion, expressing his lack of issues with Monroe.
During the Q&A, music journalist Mitch Lafon posed a question to the bassist, inquiring about his current relationship with Michael Monroe, and complimented the photos capturing their meeting.
To this, Sixx replied, assuring Lafon and his followers, “I have always had a positive relationship with Michael. He’s a genuinely good person.”
The meeting between Monroe and Mötley Crüe’s Vince Neil held significant meaning, as they had never met face-to-face since the tragic car accident that led to the unfortunate demise of Hanoi Rocks drummer Nicholas ‘Razzle’ Dingley and the subsequent breakup of the band. Sharing a heartfelt moment on Instagram, Monroe posted a photo featuring himself and the Mötley Crüe frontman, along with a touching message:
“Last night, I had one of the most pivotal moments of my life when I finally met Vince Neil. Razzle always believed we, as ‘us singers,’ had a deep connection. Had circumstances been different, our bands could have become close friends. However, destiny had other plans…”
Expressing gratitude to Vince, Monroe appreciated their limited conversation, acknowledging that Vince’s eyes conveyed more than words ever could. He also praised Vince’s performance at the show, relishing the experience of finally witnessing Mötley Crüe live.
Nikki Sixx, too, took to social media to share his delight at seeing Michael Monroe at the event, emphasizing the challenges posed by personal lives and geographical distances that had kept them apart for years. Sixx hailed Monroe as a person of great character and humorously requested him to bring his harmonica along next time they meet.
In response, Monroe left a comment beneath Sixx’s post, reciprocating the joy of their reunion and expressing gratitude for the experience. He enthusiastically promised to bring his harmonica in their next meeting, eagerly anticipating a rocking collaboration. With love, respect, and a passion for rock ‘n’ roll, the exchange embodied the enduring bond between these iconic musicians.
I have never had a problem with Michael. He’s a good guy.
